India’s partnerships with the Republic of Uganda and the Sultanate of Oman continue to strengthen through growing trade, investment, diplomatic engagement, and business cooperation. Uganda remains one of India’s key partners in East Africa, while Oman serves as a strategic gateway to the Gulf region with longstanding commercial and maritime ties. As these relationships continue to expand, fostering stronger institutional collaboration and private-sector engagement has become increasingly important to unlocking new economic opportunities.
To further advance these strategic partnerships, the United Diplomatic Council (UDC) hosted the United Economic Summit in Coimbatore, for meaningful dialogue, business networking, and policy discussions aimed at creating sustainable international partnerships.
The summit was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda, High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to India, who attended as the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “India and Uganda share a relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and shared aspirations. The next phase of our partnership lies in expanding investment, encouraging innovation, and creating opportunities that benefit businesses and communities in both countries.”

The summit primarily focused on strengthening economic relations between India, Uganda, and Oman by identifying practical opportunities for collaboration across high-growth sectors. Discussions centred on facilitating cross-border investments, promoting joint ventures, encouraging technology transfer, strengthening healthcare partnerships, expanding bilateral trade, and creating institutional mechanisms that support businesses seeking to enter new international markets.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Murtadha M. J. Ibrahim Al Jamalani, Deputy Chairman, Health Committee, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of stronger regional economic partnerships, stating, “Economic growth is driven by collaboration and long-term partnerships. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the United Diplomatic Council, highlighted the growing role of economic diplomacy in shaping international partnerships. He stated, “Strong diplomatic relations create the foundation, but it is trade, investment, innovation, and collaboration between businesses that transform those relationships into lasting economic progress. The United Economic Summit reflects our commitment to creating meaningful platforms that connect governments, institutions, and industry to build partnerships that benefit all.”.
The United Economic Summit concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation between India, Uganda, and Oman through continued dialogue, trade missions, investment facilitation, knowledge exchange, and sector-specific collaborations. By convening policymakers, diplomats, business leaders, and institutional stakeholders on a common platform, the United Diplomatic Council once again reaffirmed its commitment to advancing international economic cooperation and fostering partnerships that contribute to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and stronger global economic connectivity.
