As the global economic and geopolitical landscape continues to evolve, #BRICS is becoming an increasingly important platform for dialogue, economic engagement and cooperation across the #Global South.
For #India, its engagement with BRICS goes beyond trade and investment. It is an opportunity to contribute to conversations shaping a more balanced international order, strengthen relationships across regions and create meaningful avenues for #governments, #businesses and #institutions to work together.
It was in this spirit that the UNITED DIPLOMATIC COUNCIL and the #IETO hosted United Economic BRICS Business Summit 2026 was held in New Delhi, bringing together business #leaders, #diplomats, #trade representatives and institutional stakeholders from across countries and sectors.
One of the defining strengths of the Summit was its international and institutional diversity. Delegations from BRICS countries participated alongside the High Commissioners of #Uganda and #Jamaica, leadership and representatives from #Cuba, the #Brazil Chamber of Commerce, the #Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives from the #UAE , #Iraq , #Iran and other international business and diplomatic stakeholders.
Across the day, discussions explored the changing world order and the need for stronger partnerships, while also examining the role of technology and maritime cooperation, women’s participation in international engagement, BRICS–Africa relations, Cuba’s place within the BRICS framework, global cooperation, sustainable development and the possibilities for greater engagement between BRICS and the Commonwealth.

What emerged was a conversation that went well beyond economics. It was about #connectivity, #diplomacy, #technology, development, trade and people—and about creating spaces where different regions and perspectives can come together to identify common ground. The United Economic BRICS Business Summit 2026 was, at its heart, a meeting of ideas, relationships and possibilities.
