The Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) held a meeting with the Government of Cuba , represented by H.E. Juan Carlos Marzán Aguilera, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to India, accompanied by MsC. Ángel Oscar Pino Hernández, Director General of XETID and MSc. Ángel Oscar Pino Hernández, Vice Coordinator of Xetid.
Xetid provides technological solutions for the public sector, playing a key role in the digital transformation of Cuban society. Their mission is to enhance citizen services, improve the efficiency and transparency of governmental processes, and encourage active public participation.
Their government-focused initiatives are supported by a comprehensive digital platform for integrated public service management, serving as an effective tool to foster citizen engagement and participation in the governance of the country.
This dialogue unfolded in a year of symbolic significance, as India and Cuba mark the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations—a partnership renowned for its resilience and evolving scope.

The discussions reflected the natural shift toward collaboration in the digital sphere, recognizing the potential for mutual growth in information technology and digital innovation.
Cuban officials focused on the country’s commitment to digital transformation and modernization, emphasizing on their openness to sharing expertise, facilitating technology exchanges, and welcoming Indian solutions in secure document management, digital infrastructure, and fintech.
During the discussion, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of IETO, announced the formation of the India–Cuba IT Forum, a dedicated platform to promote bilateral engagement in the technology sector. The forum will be headed by XETID as the main Cuban partner, serving as a bridge for Indian IT companies to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the strengthening of India–Cuba digital relations.

The foundation laid during this meeting not only builds on decades of friendship but also repositions the India–Cuba relationship in the modern digital world. As both countries embrace technological collaboration, IETO invites all Indian IT companies and professionals to join the India–Cuba IT Forum, and become part of this new chapter of international digital cooperation.
