
The Indian Economic Trade Organization signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Katowice Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the sidelines of the EUROPEJSKI KONGRES-with the theme of SHAPE THE FUTURE NOW held in Katowice on the 29th November 2024.
The MOU was signed by the President of the IETO Dr. Asif Iqbal and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice Mr. Tomasz Zjawiony in the august presence of the Members of Parliment from Poland Urszula Koszutska, Kinja Gajewska and the Head of Chancery Embassy of India in Poland, Mr. Mohan Lal.

The delegation from the IETO participated in the India Poland Session of the conference which was well attended by the participants from various industries and sectors in the region. The session was moderated by Mr. JJ Singh, the President of the Indo Polish chamber of Commerce and Industry. The discussions were focussed on the India EU Free trade agreement and how the FTA could enhance the trade opportunities and reduce tariffs and other trade barriers for both India and the EU. Member of Parliament Kinja Gajewska mentioned how job creation in industries benefitting from enhanced trade such as automotive, IT and pharmaceuticals and mentioned the importance of the diversifying supply chains, reducing dependency on other markets.
Mr. Mohan Lal mentioned the initiatives taken by the Embassy of India and he briefed the developments after the recent visit of the Indian Prime Minister Hon. Mr. Narendra Modi and the impact it had on the India Polish relations taking them to the strategic level. He mentioned the promising areas for FDI between India and Poland were focussed in clean energy, startups and offering potential collaborations in energy efficient projects.
