Diverse Industries Represented in Brunei Delegation
The Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) recently led a 25-member delegation to Brunei, a growing hub for economic collaboration within ASEAN. The delegation represented a wide spectrum of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical technology, shipbuilding, wellness centers, renewable energy, coffee supply, edu-tech, and health-tech, among others. This mission marked an opportunity to connect Indian expertise with Brunei’s growing appetite for innovation and global partnerships.
B2B Meetings with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB)
The delegation was welcomed by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), which organized comprehensive B2B meetings to facilitate collaboration between Indian and Bruneian enterprises. Attendees from both nations engaged in dialogues to explore avenues for cooperation in industries like marine development, renewable energy, and healthcare innovation. The BEDB’s facilitation of these engagements underscores Brunei’s forward-thinking approach to fostering bilateral trade relations.
Commenting on the visit, Mr. Daniel Leong, CEO of BEDB, said, “Brunei is committed to fostering meaningful partnerships with India, a country that has proven its strength in innovation and industry. We see great potential in collaborating across sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and wellness.”

During the delegation’s visit, Dato Dr. Amin, a prominent figure as Minister of Finance and Economy, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Chairman of BEDB, and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), graced the delegation’s dinner meeting. His presence was a profound testament to Brunei’s openness toward Indian businesses.
Speaking at the event, Dato Dr. Amin remarked, “Brunei welcomes the expertise and innovation that Indian businesses bring. We are dedicated to creating an environment that fosters collaboration and mutual growth. This delegation marks a new chapter in our partnership with India.”
Reflecting on the visit, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of IETO, stated, “Brunei’s willingness to embrace Indian businesses and its forward-thinking leadership make it a remarkable destination for trade expansion. The warmth and commitment shown by Brunei’s leaders and the BEDB team have set the stage for long-term economic cooperation.”
