Participated in the UNITED DIPLOMATIC COUNCIL Conference that was successfully convened bringing together senior diplomats, international trade leaders, and global delegations to deliberate on strategic partnerships and economic cooperation.
The conference was graced by the presence of the Ambassador of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Karlito Nunes, alongside trade delegations from Russia, Romania, Thailand, and several Commonwealth countries.
A central focus of the conference was the strengthening of bilateral relations between #india and #timorleste, with special emphasis on the longstanding friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Timor-Leste.
During his address, Ambassador Karlito Nunes reaffirmed Timor-Leste’s commitment to deepening engagement with India and extended a formal invitation to the #IETO delegation to meet the President of Timor-Leste in Davos on 21 January 2026, on the sidelines of global diplomatic and economic interactions.
The Ambassador also issued a strong invitation to Indian companies and investors to explore opportunities in Timor-Leste’s Oil and Gas sector, as well as Mining and Mineral Exploration, describing these sectors as high-potential areas for foreign investment.
IETO announced its participation in Davos with a 17-member Indian delegation, which will engage with state heads, diplomats, and foreign trade professionals from across the world.
The UNITED DIPLOMATIC CONCIL Conference concluded with a shared vision of enhanced diplomacy, sustainable trade partnerships, and strengthened international collaboration, positioning India and Timor-Leste as key partners in the evolving global economic landscape
